Wonderful Giger-esque flyer from Horkey. You know you’re looking at something good when a turquoise and rust color pallette is used and it doesn’t look terrible, and when the logo is somehow more frighteningly arcane than an alien ant morphing into some sort of infernal thimble castle.

Buzzgrinder has a post up about a show at our resident illustrator’s… residence. If you couldn’t tell by the flyer, it is Christmas-themed and undoubtedly semi-unplugged. But if you don’t get that impression within the first 5 seconds of flyer-viewage, you have bigger tasks with which to deal than scheduling time for a seasonal potluck.

DIY can sometimes have a negative rep. High contrast black and white mimeos are alright the first few times, then the novelty wears off and it just looks like a Rorschach card met the newspaper at the bottom of a birdcage. I severely picture this design screenprinted on maroony construction paper. Possibly recycled. Making the best out of scraps you find on the floor after the kids empty out of the venue.
You may not like it, but it’s at least a few notches above the flyer Murky Coffee designed. Yeah…

Appropriate use of a polaroid-ish photo for a last show flyer. The tape and the sepia tone give you idea that you’re flipping through a scrapbook, although the only people that really scrapbook are middle-aged women with 10 kids and 50 grandchildren, or scene girls from Williamsburg. No one sane would have anything with that kind of background, except on accident or as sarcasm.
